Outer Urban Properties, LLC is inspired by the New Urbanism movement of the last 20 years to create a different type of housing from the ordinary. What is missing from our urban and suburban landscape is the space between single family homes and large multifamily properties. Between one unit and three hundred units is the missing middle housing. Duplexes fourplexes and small multi-flat properties create an intimate space for true neighbors. In this gap in housing stock lies an infinite possibility of creativity. These missing middle housing properties fit nicely in the pre-war and mid-century inner ring suburban neighborhoods that are not chained to a bland repetitive existence by excessive zoning and deed restrictions. These neighborhoods were born in a time where different property types could peacefully coexist and neighborhood scale was a human scale with room for walking, mixed uses and bicycles. As a company, we intend to exploit the possibilities that are inherent in these first ring and second ring suburbs. We intend to bring a freedom of housing choice and affordability to the public without the limits imposed by zoning, big business and uniformity. This is Outer Urban Properties.
